Not only is Ruth's Oatmeal Cake Recipe a deliciously different dessert cake perfect for any occasion, for me, this recipe has lots of good memories attached to it. Ruth was our neighbor when I was growing up in California and for years after moving away we still kept in touch. Ruth was lots of fun to be with, making you laugh-out-loud just came natural to her - as I grew older and was fortunate to spend time with her I found out firsthand why my mom loved being around her too. Memories and oatmeal cake...a sweet treat indeed!
