I am loving ice cream recipes. this one doesn't even require an ice cream maker. And I love vanilla bean. And it is HOT here in the summer, although I admit I love ice cream year round. The only thing to be careful with this recipe is the warming of the milk and then adding the beaten eggs. Be careful to allow the milk to cool a bit or you will scramble the eggs. There is a technique called tempering and once you have allowed the milk to cool. Add it a ladle or two at a time into the egg mixture to temper the eggs and get the temperatures of the two products the same. Then you can pour the eggs into the milk without worrying. This is great!
